Decking
Finlayson's offer four species of decking to meet your design brief. Our team has the knowledge to help you decide which product will
best suit your project considering budget, design and the practicalities of installation.
Iron Bark
The timber is heavy, hard and compact. The heartwood of Ironbark ranges from light grey or light chocolate with some darker reds and browns occuring. The sapwood is slightly lighter in colour.
Hardness Janka rating 14.0
Small images and samples of decking do not provide an accurate picture of the colour, grades and finish variations.
Finlayson’s recommend visiting their showroom to see larger deck areas of each deck type.
The janka rating is the result of a test to measure the density and resistance of wood to denting or breakage. The test measures the force
required to embed a steel ball 11mm thick to half of its diameter into the timber. Janka ratings are recorded in kilonewtons (kN) so the higher
the rating the more resistant to denting and wear the timber is.
